Tailpiece Stud and Bushing Set for Gibson Vintage, Historic or USA Models • Absolute Vintage Collection • Long Steel
The great tone of the 1959 Les Paul Standard wasn't the result of just the PAF humbuckers or the solid mahogany body—it was a combination of these and much more. As time goes on we're constantly finding new pieces of this combination. In 1959 Gibson used steel bushings and studs over an inch long for their aluminum tailpiece. In later years these parts were shortened and cheaper materials became common. It wasn't until the Historic upgrades in 2013 that Gibson Custom went back to the long steel studs and bushings in the Reissues. So if you have a Custom Shop Historic made before 2013, or any Gibson USA Les Paul, this set is a must-have upgrade! The results are fatter tone, longer sustain, and the satisfaction that comes from knowing one more part of the guitar is now the way it should be.
Redesigned for 2020 and more vintage correct than any other! This set includes:
Long coarse-thread bushings made of raw steel with no zinc coating.
Long studs made of nickel-plated steel, lightly aged
Installation requires deepening the holes in the body for the bushings. If you're not comfortable with power tools or don't have much experience working with guitars (specifically Les Pauls), you should have this done by a pro.
