Gibson changed the material of the USA Les Paul control and toggle covers in 2014 to a textured faux-leather look that many don't particularly care for. Gibson also uses an injection-mold to make the back plates on both earlier USA guitars. The original plates in the 50s were stamped from sheet material. CreamTone Vintage Design back plates are made from black sheet material and finished entirely by hand.
Offered in NOS or our LIX Patina lightly aged finish. LIX is the Roman numeral for 59. Even though these plates are brand new, they have the look of well-worn pieces from that era. This set is a tremendous upgrade for any Les Paul.
