If you're into old-school guitars, you're likely aware of the work being done by companies like Historic Makeovers and Nash Refins. Since we've partnered with Lay's Guitars for years, this guitar was the perfect opportunity to bring you our very first fully rebuilt Les Paul!
This one came into our shop brand-new from Gibson. It's an early 2019 Standard with 2018 specs. While working on the husk we discovered issues in the neck joint. Instead of returning it, we called Dan Shinn at Lay's and set out to create something very special! For those who may not be familiar with Lay's, they are the shop who did the work on Jimmy Page's Number One Burst.
Lay's completely disassembled the guitar and stripped the finish. From there they put the guitar back together with hide glue, and gave it a proper nitrocellulose finish with no plasticizers. They also installed new frets and aged the guitar to perfection. From there, we completed the build with CreamTone LIX Patina parts. The end result is a spectacular, one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
Featuring our line of Absolute Vintage parts, A3 Deluxe pickups with Wizz covers, Jimmy Page-inspired machined aluminum jack plate, and our harness constructed with CTS' finest pots and genuine 1960 .022 Black Beauty capacitors.
Historic Makeovers charges 5K just for the work, not including the guitar, and Nash refins sell for over 4K with stock Gibson parts. Here is your opportunity to own the very first Lay's/CreamTone Standard makeover for less, and it's fully loaded with our very best parts!
This one has a slim 60-style neck and weighs 8.6 pounds. Includes the original Gibson case, along with the Gibson factory case candy and a CreamTone COA package.
