"CreamTone has knocked it out of the park once again. These are the best reissue burst rings I've seen. Perfect replacement for your '59 LP Reissue or real burst. Thanks for another super-cool product. YOU ROCK!!!!"
—Vic DaPra, Author of Burst Believers

Our M-69 rings are made from flexible butyrate in light cream, identical to the shade and texture of the original rings from the late '50s. Like those originals, our rings are flat, not carved on the bottom. Good butyrate is soft and pliable, and will conform to your top carve as they're tightened down. Vintage Les Pauls all came from the factory with this type of ring.

Look at photos of vintage Bursts and you’ll see that the majority of them have rings that are a lighter shade than their pickguards. Take a look at the last two photos of original Bursts with their stock plastics: The first image illustrates this clearly. For an authentic vintage look, it’s important to duplicate this contrast in shades of cream. Both our NOS and aged rings are lighter than stock Gibson USA and Historic pickguards, as well as our CreamTone guards. The last photo shows our LIX Patina ring lying on an original Burst. Not only did we nail the color, but the contours and countersinks are identical.

Available in your choice of two finishes:

  1. NOS: Designed to have the appearance of recently discovered unaged vintage parts.
  2. LIX Patina: LIX is the Roman Numeral for 59. These parts are aged in our shop to have the look and feel of well-loved pieces from that era. The corners and edges are rolled by hand to duplicate years of natural wear.
